חלק מהמטיילים הישראלים בספרד דיווחו כי בעת מפגש עם רשויות האכיפה יש להציג גם את הרישיון הבינלאומי בנוסף על הרישיון הישראלי וחלק דיווחו כי השוטרים ביקשו לראות את הרישיון הישראלי בלבד. שלושת הדיווחים האחרונים בשנת 2023 ציינו כי השוטרים הספרדים ביקשו לראות רישיון נהיגה בינלאומי בנוסף על הישראלי. בדיווח נוסף מתחילת 2024 - למטייל הישראלי לא היה רישיון בינלאומי. הוא סיפר לנו שפתר את הבעיה באמצעות הפקת רישיון דיגיטלי אונליין והציג אותו לשוטר דרך הטלפון. בדיווח האחרון מקיץ 2024 קיבלנו עדכון על מטייל ששכר באזור בילבאו וכאשר נעצר לבדיקת רשיונות השוטרים ביקשו לראות רק את הרישיון הישראלי ולא ביקשו לראות בנוסף את הרישיון הבינלאומי.

All drivers must have been in possession of a full EU-valid driving
license for a minimum of one year. The minimum age of the driver is
19. For drivers between the ages of 19 & 24 years, you can hire the
vehicle by including the additional supplement. If you are 75 or over,
then you will be required to select an additional supplement. This is an
obligatory supplement regardless of the type of insurance contracted.
Only the following are considered valid driving licenses in
Spain/Portugal/Greece/Italy:
• Those issued in accordance with current Spanish, Portuguese,
Greek & Italian legislation
• Those issued by member states of the European Union in
accordance with community regulations
• Those issued by other countries or those of an international
nature that are effectively recognized as valid permissions to

applications that are admitted in the country of collection of the
vehicle).
Consequently, the drivers/payers/customers must be in possession of
a valid driving license approved in the country of hire and are directly
responsible for the validation and approval of the driving license,
exempting Centauro Rent a Car from any responsibility under any
circumstance.

For all Non-European Union renters, it is highly recommended your national driver's license must be accompanied by an International Driving Permit (IDP). An IDP translates the national license into various languages and is on its own, without the national license, not acceptable. If a license issued outside the European Union cannot be read or understood, then it is not acceptable, unless accompanied by a translation from the official source, e. g. embassy headed paper. This includes licenses which are only partly translated, Japanese and all Arabic licenses etc.
Driver's licences issued by the People's Republic of China/ Japan/ Korea may be accepted provided you present an official Hertz Certification form. Hertz China/ Japan/ Korea will issue this form on Hertz notepaper and will incorporate the Hertz China/ Japan/ Korea Corporate seal. A scanned copy of the original licence will appear on the Certification form. The Certification form is valid until the expiry date of the Driver's Licence. Both the Certification and the original licence (with an International Driving Permit strongly recommended by Police authorities in Europe) MUST be produced at the time of rental.
If you hold a Driver's Licence issued in Vietnam, you need to present the original licence together with an authorised translation issued by the Vietnamese Ministry of Transport. If both documents are presented at time of rental these licences are acceptable worldwide.

בתנאי ההשכרה כתוב: All drivers must present a fully valid and unexpired driving license (digital driving licenses are only accepted if the issuing country is Spain and the rental branch is within the country of Spain). If the driving license is written in a language and characters different from those of the country of rental, an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation.
All renters must provide a valid identity card or passport. All drivers must have held their full license for a minimum of 1 year. When renting an Elite, Premium, or Luxury Car or Convertible or SUV, renters must have additional verified contact information such as employment details, telephone numbers, and proof of Spanish residency. When renting these vehicles from an airport location travel documents such as boarding passes, hotel and apartments vouchers, etc. must be provided as well. Local customers whose documents are issued in different countries must provide additional proof of address (i.e. phone bill, gas or electricity bill) which must be less than 90 days old. If visiting Spain, renters must provide proof of accommodation, local and home country contact information such as employment details, and return travel. Please note that we reserve the right to request additional ID or conduct further identification checks if needed which may include an identity check with an external organization.

Yes. All drivers must bring all parts of their valid driving licence with them. They must bring both their driving licence and either an international driving licence or an official Spanish translation, by a notary, of their driving licence if:
• a driving licence was issued in Europe and you are renting in a country outside Europe
• Or a driving licence was issued in a non-European country, and you are renting outside that country
• Or a driving licence was issued in a non-roman alphabet like Arabic, Greek, Russian, Hebrew or Japanese.
We do not accept digital driving licenses.
Is there a minimum length I must have held my licence for?
Yes. All drivers must have held their licences for at least one year. If a licence does not show the driver has held it for the minimum period, then they must provide evidence, such as:
• Previous driving licences
• Or a letter from their driving licence authority stating that they have held it for this minimum period.
I have unspent convictions on my licence, can I drive?
If any driver has any unspent driving convictions for:
• careless, reckless or dangerous driving,
• driving or attempting to drive whilst under the influence of drink or drugs,
• using a vehicle uninsured against third party risks
• theft or unauthorised taking of a vehicle
• been disqualified - or
if they have two or more unspent convictions for offences not listed above unfortunately, they will not be able to drive our vehicles.

In Spain, all drivers must bring their valid driving licence with them.
If any of the following applies:
• their driving licence was issued in Europe,

and we cannot confirm with certainty the details included within the driving licence, the
driver will also need to provide either an international driving licence or an official Spanish

(prior to your pickup date) as we would be pleased to confirm if an international licence or
official translation will be required.
We do not accept digital driving licences.

If the driver is under 25 years of age, there will be a ‘young driver’ additional charge of €12 per day . This charge will be added during the booking process, once the age of the driver(s) has been verified, as this additional charge will apply independently to the main driver and to any additional drivers.
